Amendments
2005—Subsec. (a). Pub. L. 109–58, § 1284(d)(1), substituted “$1,000,000” for “$5,000” and “5 years” for “two years”.
Subsec. (b). Pub. L. 109–58, § 1284(d)(2), substituted “$25,000” for “$500”.
Subsec. (c). Pub. L. 109–58, § 1284(d)(3), struck out subsec. (c) which read as follows: “This subsection shall not apply in the case of any provision of section

Change of Name
Department of War designated Department of the Army and title of Secretary of War changed to Secretary of the Army by section 205(a) of act July 26, 1947, ch. 343, title II, 61 Stat. 501. Section 205(a) of act July 26, 1947, was repealed by section 53 of act Aug. 10, 1956, ch. 1041, 70A Stat. 641. Section 1 of act Aug. 10, 1956, enacted “Title 10, Armed Forces” which in sections
3010 to
3013 continued military Department of the Army under administrative supervision of Secretary of the Army.

Nothing in amendment by Pub. L. 102–486 to be construed as affecting or intending to affect, or in any way to interfere with, authority of any State or local government relating to environmental protection or siting of facilities, see section 731 of Pub. L. 102–486, set out as a note under section
796 of this title.
